There are many places to escape light pollution and get terrific shots of the Milky Way. It all depends on the time of year, weather, lunar cycle, and several other factors. All of which I have been working with for more than 20 years.
If you are up for a physical challenge, a hike to the other side of the island is in order, taking our camera gear and low level lighting to get some seriously advanced and professional images.
Should the exercise bit not be for you there are also plenty of places that I can drive to, and yes, sometimes the easy way is the best way.
